European jet maker Airbus will be reaching a new major milestone on Friday as it delivers its 10,000th Airbus aircraft, which will be the sixt Airbus A350 for Singapore Airlines.

On Friday the 14th of October Singapore Airlines will be receiving the 10,000th aircraft that Airbus delivered to a customer. In some way it is fitting that the jet maker will be celebrating this event with Singapore Airlines; The airline has previously functioned as the launch customer for the Airbus A380 and was the first airline to order the ultra-long range version of the Airbus A350–900.
The aircraft will be the 6th Airbus A350–900 in the Singapore Airlines fleet. The airline is currently in the process of replacing its Boeing 777–200 and Boeing 777–200ER by the Airbus A350. The carrier ordered a total of 67 A350 airframes, making it the largest customer for Airbus’ newest jet after after Qatar Airways.
