Dubai, 15 October 2021 – Airblue Limited’s (airblue) latest fleet addition, A321-200NX MSN 10162 has departed Hamburg destined for Karachi. The aircraft from GECAS’ skyline is the first A320neo family aircraft to enter service with a Pakistani airline.

“GECAS is delighted to support airblue’s fleet expansion with this CFM LEAP-powered neo as they grow their operations throughout the region,” shares Mick O’Mahony, GECAS’ SVP & Region Manager.

Taking delivery of the first Airbus A320neo family of aircraft to operate in Pakistan adds to airblue’s history of firsts in Pakistani aviation, including initiating e-ticketing and self-check-in kiosk facilities in the country.

“Airblue is privileged to bring this new-technology 237-seat A321NX narrowbody into service. It is a great complement to our all Airbus A320 family fleet with 95% airframe commonality and enhanced fuel-efficiency”, explains airblue Deputy Managing Director Operations Ms. Sadia Mohammad. “Additionally, we look forward to the delivery of our second Airbus A321NX from GECAS later this year.”
