Riga. The Supervisory Board members of airBaltic, delegated by both the Latvian state and the private investor, have approved Pauls Cālītis as the new member of the Board of airBaltic, with his duties effective as of March 1, 2020.

As the Chief Operations Officer, Pauls Cālītis will be responsible for flight operations, technical and logistics departments, ground operations, customer support, security, safety and quality of the airline.
Pauls Cālītis has graduated from Global Aviation Master of Business Administration (GAMBA) program at the Montreal-based Concordia University. On September 11, 1995, only weeks after the establishment of the company, P. Cālītis joined airBaltic as a pilot. In 1999, Mr. Cālītis became a Director of Flight Operations, and until 2020 worked as the Senior Vice President Flight Operations of airBaltic.
For a longer period of time P. Cālītis had been a member of the top management team of airBaltic and has been the member of the board of airBaltic Training, subsidiary of airBaltic, since its establishment in 2010. His responsibilities have included fleet modernization, pilot and cabin crew standard development, planning and training as well as inflight service. He was also one of the main team members who lead the establishing of airBaltic Pilot Academy. Pauls Cālītis continues to be qualified and fly as Airbus A220-300 Captain and Instructor/Examiner.
