Air Serbia Reconnecting Belgrade With The Region And The United States Of America

Air Serbia, the national airline of the Republic of Serbia, will start re-introducing flights to certain destinations in the region in the last week of May. Air Serbia plans to operate the first flight from Belgrade to Ljubljana on Friday, 29 May, making it the first airline to return to this airport, and then, during the first two weeks of June, in addition to Ljubljana, it will be re-launching flights to Podgorica, Tivat, Sarajevo, Banjaluka and Skopje. In addition, Air Serbia will re-launch commercial flights to New York on the 6th of June, while from 13 June, the number of long haul flights of the Serbian national carrier will increase to two a week. The exact schedules of the aforementioned flights shall be published at airserbia.com.

“Our Sales and Contact Centre continue to receive numerous queries about when flights will commence, which is an excellent indicator that there is great interest for travel from our passengers and the citizens of Serbia. We are responding to the demand to recommence flights to as many destinations as soon as possible, within the limitations of the restrictions imposed in numerous jurisdictions. However, we are gradually restoring the traffic, and that’s good news,” stated Duncan Naysmith, CEO of Air Serbia. He called on passengers to ensure that they comply with the regulations set out by the regulatory authorities.

All updates will be available on the airline’s website and social media platforms. In addition, the call centre or retail offices can be contacted to clarify any requests.

It was stated earlier that Air Serbia, in addition to the aforementioned flights to the region and New York, will also organize a limited number of flights to London Heathrow, Frankfurt, Zurich and Vienna between 21 May to 14 June. If the EU travel restrictions are lifted from 15 June, Air Serbia plans to increase the number of passenger flights.

The final flight schedule will depend on demand and the decisions and guidelines of domestic, foreign and international bodies and authorities in charge of civil aviation, and changes to travel restrictions and public health measures in countries to which Air Serbia operates flights. On its flights, Air Serbia will be implementing all necessary safety measures, in accordance with the highest safety and hygiene standards, as well as instructions of competent domestic and international regulatory bodies. As always, the safety of our passengers and crew members are our number one priority.
