During the summer charter season, in the period from 5 July to the end of October, Air Serbia operated 299 return flights to popular tourism destinations in Turkey, Egypt and Greece. The majority of flights were to the Turkish coast - 189 in total, followed by 108 to Egypt, and only two return flights to Greece, due to the introduction of travel restrictions.

The most popular destination of the national airline in the summer charter season was Antalya with 163 return flights. Air Serbia started the charter season to Turkey on 5 July, with the flight to this city. The first flight to Bodrum was operated on 28 July, after which the number of flights to the Turkish coast grew in accordance with increased demand, having in mind that Turkey had not introduced travel restrictions for Serbian citizens. Charter flights to Egypt were recommenced on 4 August, with the flight to Hurghada, while the first flight to Sharm El-Sheikh was operated on 12 August. With a total of 122 rotations carried out, August was the best month in terms of charter flight numbers.

“Having in mind the current circumstances which are greatly limiting people’s ability to travel, we can say that the results are relatively satisfactory. We owe great gratitude to our partners, travel agencies, for working hard together with us to allow the greatest possible number of tourists to arrive to their desired destinations and enjoy their vacation like every year. In these challenging times, when collective solidarity and support are needed the most, through our cooperation, we have managed to provide added value to our passengers, and the entire tourism sector of our country, which is currently among the most severely affected ones,” said Boško Rupić, Head of Trade and Corporate Sales, Air Serbia.

In the forthcoming period, the airline is planning charter flights to Hurghada and Sharm El-Sheikh in the end of December and beginning of January. There are also plans for four special flights for New Year holidays, in the period from 30 December to 3 January 2021 - two to Hurghada and one to Antalya and Bodrum each. Charter flights are operated using A319 and Boeing B737 planes with 144 seats each.
