Air Malta adds Malaga to its Summer 2018 Schedule, adding its 3rd new destination for next summer in line with its growth strategy
Next summer Air Malta will inaugurate a twice weekly scheduled service to Malaga, the second-most populous city of Andalusia and the sixth-largest in Spain. This is the first time Air Malta will introduce scheduled services to the city and signifies a welcome return of Air Malta flights to Spain.
Mr Paul Sies, Chief Commercial Officer stated, “The Spanish market has long been on our agenda and we are thrilled that we will be returning to Spain next year. The launch of this new route continues to show Air Malta’s leading position as a carrier connecting the Islands to important cities. We are working hard to improve our network of flights through adding new destinations whilst adding more frequencies to important destinations thus connecting better the whole Mediterranean region. We will be announcing more routes for summer 2018”.
Besides connecting the popular Malaga area, the new route is also the
ideal gateway for travelling to and from Gibraltar. Nowadays
thousands of expats mostly working in the iGaming industry travel
frequently between Gibraltar and Malta. Air Malta will now facilitate an
easy way to travel between the two countries,” added Mr Sies.
Malaga lies on the Costa del Sol on the Spanish southern coast, some 100 kilometers east of the Strait of Gibraltar. It is an intriguing destination encompassing a unique territorial setting which evokes the splendour of a southern Mediterranean city. In the surrounding areas of the Alcazaba Hill visitors can admire and explore the impressive remain structures of a Roman Amphitheatre dating back to 1BC.
