Air Italy is delighted to announce that it has received authorisation from the Sardinia Region to operate the PSO flights on the Olbia-Rome FCO and Olbia-Milan LIN routes from April 1 to 16 April.

The flights are being loaded and will be available for sale today.

With respect to the period from 17 April 2019, the start date for the new Territorial Continuity regime, Air Italy continues to await communication from the authorities and will proceed to offer the flights to the public as and when it is officially authorised.

Chief Operating Officer of Air Italy, Rossen Dimitrov said: "The decision to cover the period from April 1 to April 16 follows the decision taken by Air Italy on March 12 to agree to accept the public service obligations on the routes from Olbia from April 17 forwards for one year without compensation – a decision taken fully with the aim of supporting our staff, protecting our investment and ensuring a lasting future for our business. We look forward to hearing from the authorities as soon as possible regarding this proposal to operate without compensation so that we can also put these flights on sale and serve both the residents of Sardinia and support the economy by bringing in tourists particularly during the imminent Easter holiday period.

“Olbia is home to the headquarters of Air Italy, and we will continue to preserve the roots of our company which was born here over 50 years ago. We are proud of this long history, which has created social and economic development across the island and trained hundreds of national air transport professionals, constituting the ideal bridge between the peninsula and Sardinia."
