Air Astana Enhances International Network And Expands Fleet

Airline launches two new flights to the Russian Federation and takes delivery of third A320neo family of aircraft

Air Astana, the Skytrax award-winning carrier from Kazakhstan, is launching new flights from Astana to two destinations in Russia – Tyumen and Kazan. The new Astana – Tyumen route commenced on 2nd June 2018 and will operate three times a week on Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays. The flight will be served by an Embraer E190, with nine Business Class and 88 Economy Class seats.

Air Astana’s second new route: Astana – Kazan, commenced on 3rd June 2018. The new flight will operate on Sundays and will be served by an Airbus A320 and Embraer E190 aircraft. The new service supplements the existing Almaty – Kazan flight, which operates twice a week on Tuesdays and Fridays. Ticket prices start at US$218 for a round trip in Economy Class and US$618 for a return flight in Business Class (prices may vary due to currency fluctuations). The airline offers convenient connections for international passengers travelling from Beijing, Delhi, Tashkent and Bishkek.

This latest network expansion coincides with the delivery of the airline’s second Airbus A321neo. Air Astana took delivery of the aircraft on 2nd June. The new aircraft offers 179 seats in a two-class layout (Business 28/Economy 151) . Similar to its first A321neo, this aircraft is equipped with an in-seat IFE system. The aircraft will be operated on Air Astana’s domestic and international routes including flights to Russia, Georgia, Turkey, UAE, Central Asia and China. In total, the airline has ordered 17 A32oneo family of aircraft, with first A320neo and two A321neo already delivered. The remaining 14 aircraft are to be delivered within the next two years, enabling Air Astana to operate one of the youngest fleets in the world.
