AIP Capital (“AIP”), a global aviation asset management and investment firm, announced it has opened an office in Singapore, cementing its presence in the Asia-Pacific region, and better positioning AIP to serve regional and global industry clients across the firm’s global network.
“AIP has been an active participant in the broader Asia-Pacific region, and we are pleased to further grow our global presence with a local office in Singapore,” said Jared Ailstock, Managing Partner at AIP. “We believe this strategic location will support and advance our long-term investment objectives in the region and provide our global team members and clients with further flexibility and support.”
As part of this expansion, AIP has hired Dimuth Fernando to head the Singapore office and lead the commercial efforts in the APAC region. Mr. Fernando joins AIP from Jackson Square Aviation and prior to that held senior positions at Boeing and Embraer.
“Having this physical presence in Singapore represents our capabilities in serving clients in the region,” said Dimuth Fernando, Managing Director, Asia Pacific. Mr. Fernando’s responsibilities include leading AIP’s aircraft financing and investments in the Asia-Pacific region and managing AIP’s office in Singapore.
This office in Singapore is AIP’s third global office, joining footprints in Dublin, Ireland and Stamford, Connecticut. AIP’s global team currently consists of 25 people across AIP’s three global offices. AIP currently owns and manages over 50 assets, representing approximately $2.4 billion in value.
