Paris, Amstelveen, 9 April 2018 - AFI KLM E&M and AerCap have inked an agreement covering modifications to three Boeing 777-300s, prior to their transfer to another airline. The two groups are thus further cementing an established relationship after several similar large-scale projects.
The programs involve cabin reconfiguring and refitting, and retrofitting Zodiac Aerospace's RAVE IFE system - a global first on 777 family aircraft.
Extensive 777 product know-how
In addition to the quality of the relationship with AFI KLM E&M, AerCap based its trust on the great expertise developed by the MRO on 777 modifications. AFI KLM E&M has already carried out over 100 cabin modification programs on this aircraft type, both for its parent airlines under the BEST program, as well as for third-party customers. In addition to that know-how, the MRO provides its ability to develop solutions to the specific expectations of its customers.
Optimized supply chain
In the framework of the AerCap contract, AFI KLM E&M has developed a dedicated supply chain for Business Class seating that will considerably shorten project launches and TAT. The first modification program is scheduled to begin in October 2018.
Joe Venuto, Chief Technical Officer of AerCap said, "We are very pleased to work with AFI KLM E&M on this project. The team provides bespoke solutions which are tailored to meet our customers' requirements. We look forward to receiving the newly modified aircraft."
Fabrice Defrance, Senior Vice President Commercial AFI KLM E&M, added: "In recent years our Group has developed unrivaled expertise on the 777 Modifications product, which is recognized and valued throughout the market by international airlines and major corporates like AerCap. This latest contract confirms the attractiveness of our commercial offering and at the same time cements the partnership forged with AerCap, the world's leading aircraft leasing company."
