Paris, Amstelveen, Le Bourget 21 June 2017 - AFI KLM E&M has won the component support contract for Air Mauritius's new Airbus A350s. The long-term contract covers a total of six aircraft, the first two of which will be delivered this year.
An exhaustive offer
In addition to pool access and repairs, the contract covers the deployment of a Main Base Kit to meet the carrier's local requirements at its base at Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam International Airport. The airline will also be able to tap into the AFI KLM E&M pool of nacelles, which are repaired at the Group's ultra-modern Helios aero structures facility at Paris-CDG.
What's more, AFI KLM E&M will provide all-round, long-term support during the new aircraft's entry into service by sharing its expertise and experience as an MRO/airline supporting the latest addition to the Airbus family. This includes change-management training, immersion training for Air Mauritius personnel at AIR FRANCE KLM facilities in Paris, and on-job training for Mauritius-based certifying engineers. As part of the support provided, AFI KLM E&M will implement its PROGNOS predictive maintenance services.
Proven experience on the A350
Mr Indradev Buton, Officer in Charge, Air Mauritius, said: "We appreciated the competitive offer of the AFI KLM E&M services, as well as its exhaustive character. And all that came with a clear technical and economic program giving us the long-term visibility we need to operate our fleet efficiently."
Fabrice Defrance, Senior Vice President Commercial AFI KLM E&M, added: "We designed an offering exactly matching the requirements of Air Mauritius - one of our most loyal clients since 1999, whose trust is hugely important to us. This marks a further success for AFI KLM E&M's A350 offering, and bolsters our position in the Indian Ocean, once again demonstrating our expertise with this latest- generation product."
