Afeef Zara Airways was granted its Regular Public Transport license from Pakistan's CAA ahead of planned launch of domestic operations in September 2018, according to its chairman, Rashid Ahmed Siddiquit.

AZA plans to fly between Karachi, Lahore, and Islamabad with three aircraft.

AZA is a subsidiary of Afeef Group, a large Karachi-based packaging company.

Other carriers are also looking to obtain their RPT licenses, including Askary Air, Liberty Air, and Go Green.
