Aeromexico and AFI KLM E&M form a long-term partnership based on trust
Mexico's global airline continues to rely on AFI KLM E&M's expert solutions for component support for its Boeing 737 fleet and APU support for its Boeing 787 fleet.
Paris, Amstelveen, April 28th, 2022 – Aeromexico and AFI KLM E&M formalized the extension of two maintenance agreements, one dedicated to the component support of the Boeing 737 NG and Boeing 737 MAX aircraft and the other dedicated to the APU support of Aeromexico's Boeing 787 aircraft. This double extension illustrates the solidity and richness of the cooperation established between the two groups, both members of the Skyteam alliance for several years, and the trust placed by Aeromexico in AFI KLM E&M's know-how.
Availability and reliability
The component support agreement, initially signed in 2018 and renewed today, includes repair services, access to AFI KLM E&M's 737 main parts pool and the provision of a Main Base Kit at Aeromexico’s facilities. These solutions will be delivered as part of the CSP 737 maintenance program jointly operated by AFI KLM E&M and Boeing, which combines the expertise of an aircraft manufacturer and a leading aircraft maintenance company. This tailored support ensures that Aeromexico will benefit from the highest possible availability of its 737 fleet, and by extension, a key asset to support its business continuity.
Mikel Piña Bilbao, Aeromexico's SVP Supply Chain, said: "Our company's satisfaction with the services delivered so far in terms of performance and reliability, AFI KLM E&M's footprint and proximity to the American continent via Barfield, and its expertise in the 737 product, reinforced through the CSP program, all explain why we continue to place our trust in the company. We look forward to continuing this collaboration and further optimizing it to enhance the operational performance of our 737 fleet.”
An adaptive program for APUs
The renewal of the 787 APU support agreement (APS5000 product) covers repair services and availability solutions, including the provision of spare APUs, as well as a dedicated operational condition monitoring system via the predictive maintenance program PROGNOS® for APU. Led and implemented by EPCOR, an AFI KLM E&M subsidiary specializing in APU maintenance, this support is not only geared towards guaranteed APU availability, but more generally towards enhanced support for optimal asset management.
Alejandro Cardona Seemann, Aeromexico's Head of Group’s Propulsion Area, said: "AFI KLM E&M's ability to operate solutions that integrate an airline's vision is a key element in our renewal decision. Through its expertise and know-how, AFI KLM E&M knows how to advise us on the best choices to make to maximize the APU's under-wing life, optimize our removal plans, reduce our costs, etc."
Pierre Teboul, SVP Commercial at AFI KLM E&M, added: "Aeromexico has been a privileged and historic partner for AFI KLM E&M for several years. We are delighted with the trust the airline has placed in us and remain fully committed to supporting their current and future challenges with high-performance maintenance programs tailored to the reality of their operations."
