Aergo Capital marks 20 years by reaching milestone of 50 commercial jet aircraft in its portfolio
- Antony Snelleman joins as Co-Chief Commercial Officer & Global Head of Risk
21 January 2019: Dublin, Ireland / Hong Kong, China - Leading aircraft leasing and trading company Aergo Capital (Aergo) is pleased to announce a historic milestone for the company, reaching a portfolio of fifty (50) modern commercial jet and turboprop aircraft, as of 31 December 2018 and valued at US $1.3 billion. This achievement fittingly marks the company’s twentieth year of operation, having been established in 1999 by Fred Browne, Aergo’s Chief Executive Officer.
Commenting on today’s announcement, Fred noted: “Over the last two decades Aergo Capital has grown from a boutique trading entity into a full-service operating lessor with an established servicing platform. Last year was an extremely successful year for the company having closed transactions on eleven (11) aircraft, established our new Hong Kong platform, and completed the securitization of approximately 52% of the Aergo Capital portfolio through our debut ABS structure, METAL 2017-1”.
Looking ahead to 2019, the company will continue to actively grow both its platform and global reach and in doing so, is delighted to announce that Antony Snelleman will join the company as Co-Chief Commercial Officer & Global Head of Risk.
Antony joins Aergo from his position as Global Head of Sales with Milestone Aviation Group, GECAS’ helicopter leasing business. Prior to Milestone, Antony served as Senior Vice President and Region Manager Asia for GECAS where he was responsible for a portfolio of some 200-aircraft worth approximately US $8 billion. Antony is a graduate of the University of Queensland having received a bachelor’s degree in Economics.
Commenting on the new addition to the team, Fred Browne, said: “I am thrilled that Antony will be joining Aergo Capital and based in our new Hong Kong office. Antony brings 17 years of aviation finance experience to the company across both the commercial and risk sectors. This addition to our global platform further enhances the aviation expertise that Aergo can offer our partners and customers across Asia and the globe.”
Antony will be based in Hong Kong and will be responsible for origination and business development throughout the Asia Pacific region, while also being responsible for Aergo’s Risk Management on a global scale.
