Onur Air, which has been hiring aircraft to Saudia Airlines on wet-lease basis for long years as one of the major privately-held airlines of Turkey, expanded the scope of its cooperation with the flag carrier airline company of Saudi Arabia, and started to provide technical maintenance services to the Saudi Airlines.

Equipped with a 26-year airline and technical maintenance experience, Onur Air will perform the C maintenance processes, referred to as the extensive maintenance, for 4 A320 aircraft owned by Saudia Airlines throughout 2018 as part of the agreement. The technicians initiated the maintenance processes for one of these aircraft in September in Onur Air Technics Hangar situated at Ataturk Airport. The C maintenance processes of the remaining 3 aircraft are scheduled to be performed in October and December by Onur Air Technics Department. Onur Air currently maintains the negotiations with Saudia Airlines for provision of C maintenance processes for a total of 35 A320 aircraft, owned by the airline company, in 2019.

Stating that they have brought a substantial amount of foreign currency to our country through the technical maintenance services they have provided to a total of 12 international airlines just in 2018, and underlying that they have been maintaining their commercial collaboration with Saudia Airlines for long years, Teoman Tosun, General Manager of Onur Air, said: "This agreement for provision of technical maintenance service has reinforced the relations between the two airlines, besides the collaboration in passenger transportation."

Indicating that 2 new aircraft will be added to the fleet of Onur Air by the end of 2018, and that Turkish civil aviation industry will keep developing upon commissioning of the new airport, Mr. Tosun ended his words: "We, as Onur Air, aim to achieve a growth rate of 10 percent in 2019."
