Oklahoma City -- SkyWest Airlines, a wholly-owned subsidiary of SkyWest, Inc. (NASDAQ: SKYW) is pleased to select WRWA as the location for its newest maintenance facility.

The new, 135,000 square foot maintenance facility will accommodate up to nine regional aircraft and will support overnight maintenance for its four major airline partners. Construction began in July 2017 and the facility is expected to be open for operations in summer 2018.

“SkyWest selected Oklahoma City because of its location, competitive costs and connectivity throughout our operation,” said Bill Dykes, SkyWest’s Vice President of Maintenance. “We’re excited to add another new, state-of-the-art facility to our operation look forward to bringing exceptional technicians to our OKC operation.”
SkyWest currently operates in Oklahoma City as a regional carrier for four major airlines – Delta Air Lines, United Airlines, American Airlines and Alaska Airlines. The company expects to hire or relocate at least 100 aircraft mechanics to work out of the new facility, with potential for more.
