(Luton, UK – 11 December, 2017) - Monarch Aircraft Engineering Limited (MAEL), celebrating 50 years as a leading MRO, has implemented a new competency based system with the ELMS Aviation application.

Using the cloud-based software system will provide MAEL, a Part 145 and Part M approved organisation, with an enhanced solution to better manage competence and compliance of its highly skilled staff.

Having the ELMS Aviation application allows all engineers working in maintenance and continuing airworthiness to build a complete profile of their competence, in accordance with EASA regulations and industry best practice.

Commenting on the partnership, Monarch Aircraft Managing Director Chris Dare said: “I am delighted to be working with ELMS. The goal for us is to improve safety, competence and quality within the industry. Training and registration has been rolled out across the business at our Luton and Birmingham hangars.

“By using the tool Monarch Aircraft Engineering is demonstrating to customers that we are taking the necessary steps to ensure we continue to deliver a high level of service. This will help going forward as we continue growing our customer base.”

John Scale, Head of Commercial and Sales for ELMS Aviation, said: “We are delighted that MAEL, one of Europe’s leading MROs, has commissioned the ELMS Competence Management System.”

“MAEL, recognise the growing requirement across the industry to demonstrate and evaluate personnel competence in a transparent and standardised fashion, a view that is aligned with a regulatory shift towards a performance-based environment. The ELMS solution will enable MAEL to differentiate themselves in the marketplace allowing them to deliver a product of the highest quality whilst increasing the efficiency of their business.”
