Lion Air Group which leads several airlines in Indonesia such as Lion Air, Wings Air, Batik Air and Malindo Air operating in Malaysia as well as Thai Lion Air based in Thailand today held a strategic partnership with PT West Java International Airport.

The cooperation of both parties was marked by the signing of Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) at Prama Grand Preanger Hotel, Jalan Asia Afrika, Bandung, Thursday (26/10/2017). The signing was directly signed between PT BIJB President Director, Virda Dimas Ekaputra and Lion Air Group President Director, Edward Sirait.

"This is an excellent progress and development in terms of infrastructure development especially for the Airport. This can certainly improve connectivity and expand access to several domestic destinations in other Indonesia and even international destinations, "said Edward Sirait.

Edward added that Lion Air Group is ready to support in its several airlines operations under the auspices of West Java International Airport because he believes that it will provide more convenience to the community in determining flight options with the Lion Air Group, and with the West Java International Airport can be increasingly to create employment opportunities to build national aviation.

While Virda said that Lion Air Group will encompass the needs of air transport facilities from and to West Java.

"Hopefully this cooperation with Lion Group which has many subsidiaries can provide air transportation services to the people of West Java in particular, and generally Indonesia," said Virda.

The presence of MoU with the airline known as the low cost of this flight can certainly be a fresh breeze for BIJB. Moreover Lion Air which has 112 fleets and currently has flown to 183 routes with services to all corners of Indonesia. As for Lion Air international routes serve to a number of countries such as, Singapore, Malaysia, Saudi Arabia and China.

The number of routes will certainly continue to grow considering the growing aviation market in Indonesia is rapidly coupled with new services through BIJB.
