Miami, March 9, 2018 – The Latin American and Caribbean Air Transport Association (ALTA) announced today that Latin America and Caribbean airlines carried 23.3 million passengers in January, up 2.6% – or 584,971 more passengers – from the previous year. Traffic (RPK) grew 6.1% and capacity (ASK) increased 6%, bringing up the load factor to 83.4%, 0.1 percentage points higher than in January 2017. (see table 1).
