The Ilyushin Aviation Complex (IL) will be ready to start series production of Il-114-300 aircraft very soon, said a company press report, making reference to the CEO Alexei Rogozin.

"We see that the regional aviation market is very promising, and in view of the current political situation, Russian airlines should think about changing their fleets to domestic aircraft. We have much to offer in this respect. As soon as we receive an order, we can quickly commence mass production of regional IL-114-300, which with new engines, a new cabin and new avionics will be able to compete with the best of Western aircraft”, said Rogozin.

According to him, within three years the company expects to be producing about 12 aircraft per year.

"As for the volumes, we expect to produce about 12 aircraft per year after 2021. However, if there is a need for more aircraft, we can ramp up to meet it”, added IL’s CEO.

Earlier on Monday, Russian President Vladimir Putin, within the framework of the congress of Russian transport workers, announced that he was waiting for concrete proposals from Russian airlines and manufacturers to increase the number of Russian aircraft in inter-regional aviation.
