London/Dublin - January 17th 2018: IBA, the independent aviation consultancy, is pleased to announce that Alice Gondry, Head of Operations - Intelligence, has earned Senior Appraiser status through the International Society of Transport Aircraft Trading (ISTAT). Alice joined IBA in 2005 and is responsible for managing operations within the commercial aviation intelligence team. She oversees the production and delivery of intelligence-derived projects, from desktop valuations through to strategic DD assignments and feasibility studies around asset selection.

An ISTAT Certified Appraiser since 2013, Alice completed an additional, comprehensive examination for advancement. Candidates for the Senior Appraiser designation are required to have been employed for a minimum of seven years in an aviation-related business, of which no less than six years must be spent performing aircraft appraisals. The examination for advancement to Senior Appraiser includes a broad mix of questions covering technical, ethical and financial topics which require an astute knowledge of appraisal principles and practices.

Alice becomes IBA’s fourth ISTAT Senior Appraiser alongside Phil Seymour, President and CEO, Dr Stuart Hatcher, Chief Intelligence Officer, and Jonathan McDonald, Head Analyst for Commercial and Ageing Aircraft. Despite there being an expanding group of Certified Appraisers, there are only 22 individuals worldwide who have earned the Senior Appraiser status. Alice’s achievement therefore demonstrates IBA’s high level of internal expertise and their commitment to nurturing and retaining talent within the business.

Alice comments, “A Senior ISTAT Appraiser has a solid and tested knowledge of appraisal principles and a deeper understanding of the parameters that affect aircraft values and other issues relevant to our trade. By investing in its appraisers, IBA is able to offer a level of high calibre business acumen that provides assurance to its clients.”
