New York, October 30, 2017 – Aviation finance lawyer Terry Sanders has joined Hughes Hubbard & Reed as a partner in the firm’s New York office from Clifford Chance.

Steven Chung, co-chair of Hughes Hubbard’s aviation practice, said, “Terry Sanders’ depth of experience in aircraft finance, coupled with his strong reputation in the aircraft finance industry, makes him an outstanding addition to our firm and significantly strengthens the capabilities of our aviation practice, particularly in the ABS space.”

Sanders’ asset finance experience involves representing underwriters, issuers, lenders, lessors and manufacturers in a variety of asset finance transactions, including portfolio securitizations, acquisition financing and secured lending. Many of the deals he has worked on have won awards and been named as “Deals of the Year.”

He has worked on financing in the U.S., Europe, Latin America, and Asia.

Sanders began his career at Simpson Thacher & Bartlett where he was a member of the Banking & Finance group and focused on aircraft finance and bankruptcy work. After six years, he joined Clifford Chance’s aircraft finance practice. Sanders received his undergraduate degree from Colgate University and his J.D. from Brooklyn Law School.
