Delta to no longer provide commercial services to and from Venezuela beginning 23 September 2017, thus joining others carrier that have stopped providing services to the country for various reasons.

Delta's VP for Latin America and the Caribbean, Nicolás Ferri, said a few months ago that the situation of the industry in Venezuela was difficult, despite the carrier making a great effort to maintain operations to the country.

"We flew to Venezuela for 15 years, it's a market with which we are very committed, but we must recognize that the situation in Venezuela at this time is really very difficult," he said in recent statements.

On 25 July 2017, Delta filed this document with Venezuela's INAC, effectively dropping services from Atlanta to Caracas from September 2017.
