According to the global passenger traffic results revealed by the International Air Transport Association, the number of travellers in 2017 increased by 7.6% compared to 2016 and it is going to go up even more in 2018.

Due to the growing demand for air travel, commercial airlines every so often find themselves in a position where they lack the resources needed to operate in full swing. To satisfy the demand, they with ever-increasing frequency rely on short- and long-term ACMI services for additional capacity.

That said, the largest narrow-body ACMI operator in the world, Avion Express, has announced its preliminary statistics on the block hour production in 2018. It is expected that by the end of 2018 the airline will have flown around 47,000 block hours, breaking the previous year result by 14%. That means that Avion Express, that has been consistently growing in terms of production, is about to reach its all-time high by the end of this year.

Avion Express is the largest narrow-body ACMI operator in the world and the largest airline in Lithuania. It has been successfully working with clients in Europe, Asia-Pacific and the Caribbean regions. In 2018 Avion Express will operate 15 Airbus 319/320/321 aircraft serving its clients worldwide.
