In November 2017, Air China Limited (the "Company"), and its subsidiaries (the "Group") continued to maintain a growth in combined passenger traffic (measured by revenue passenger kilometers (the "RPK")) as compared to the same period last year and recorded a slight decrease as compared to the same period last month. Passenger capacity (measured by available seat kilometers (the "ASK")) and passenger traffic recorded a year-on-year increase of 11.7% and 14.2% respectively. For domestic routes, passenger capacity and passenger traffic increased by 10.3% and 12.0% respectively, as compared to the same period last year. For international routes, passenger capacity and passenger traffic increased by 14.8% and 18.0% respectively, as compared to the same period last year. Passenger capacity and passenger traffic on regional routes increased by 5.0% and 19.0% respectively, as compared to the same period last year. The overall passenger load factor was 81.4%, representing an increase of 1.8 percentage points as compared to the same period last year. The passenger load factor for domestic, international and regional routes increased by 1.2, 2.1 and 9.8 percentage points respectively.

The Company launched a Tianjin-Changchun route (seven times a week) on 1 November 2017, a Tianjin-Korla-Yining route (three times a week) and a Chongqing-Taipei Songshan route (once a week) on 2 November 2017, a Yinchuan-Nanchang route (seven times a week) on 6 November 2017 and a Tianjin-Bo'ao route (five times a week) on 9 November 2017.

In terms of cargo operations, in November 2017, cargo and mail traffic (measured by revenue freight tonne kilometers (the "RFTK")) continued to record an increase as compared to the same period last year and recorded a slight decrease as compared to the same period last month, while freight tonnage carried recorded an increase both on a year-on-year basis and a month-on-month basis. Cargo capacity (measured by available freight tonne kilometers (the "AFTK")) increased by 10.2% year-on-year. Cargo and mail traffic increased by 8.0% and the volume of cargo and mail carried rose by 2.3% as compared to the same period last year. The cargo load factor was 57.2% in November 2017, representing a slight year-on-year decrease of 1.2 percentage points.

In November 2017, the Group introduced six aircraft in total, including two B737-8MAXs, one A320NEO, one B787-9, one A319 and one B737-800, and retired three aircraft, including one B737-800, one B737-700 and one Falcon7X business jet. As at the end of November 2017, the Group operated a fleet of 646 aircraft, including 264 self-owned aircraft, 179 aircraft under finance lease and 203 aircraft under operating lease.
